Dear Parent/Guardian:
In the 10th grade year of high school, all students have a meeting to revisit their Personalized Education Plan (PEP). The PEP is started in the 8th grade year of school. In 8th grade, a plan is made for 9th and 10th grade years and is documented on the PEP. In the 10th grade year, a plan is made for the 11th and 12th grade years of high school.
In this meeting, we will discuss class choices for the next two years of high school. The parent/guardian and student must both attend the PEP meeting. If you do not schedule a meeting, your student’s PEP will be done with a counselor without your involvement. If you prefer to meet by phone, that may be arranged.
For the purposes of the PEP meeting, your student should have some idea of their career interest. Of course, this career choice could change, but we need something to start with for planning purposes. The 10th grade students recently did career exploration on CFWV.com. CFWV may be used for further research with your student prior to the PEP meeting.
How to book your PEP meeting:
The 10th grade PEP meetings are divided alphabetically among all three SSHS counselors. Parents will follow the appropriate link for their last name or scan the QR code to make a PEP appointment. These can be found on the school website, in the Class of 2027 Schoology group, and on Facebook.
